issues, not feelings or sentiments. I believe that serious
changes must be made to the
way politics are conducted and issues debated and resolved.
However, I differ from the other candidates because I believe that
thorough and frank discussion of the issues and my proposals for their
resolution are the best means of differentiating my campaign from those
of the other candidates. Not all of you will agree with my
positions and suggested remedies for some of these issues, but I
sincerely ask that you give my proposals a fair evaluation and compare
them in depth with the positions of the other candidates on these
